Pick your dates or make an offer, then chat directly with the other person. Payments are held by our partner and released only after the swap is confirmed.

Hand over in person with a QR code, or use tracked shipping. Once confirmed, the money is released and any deposit is returned.

Verified identity

Before you can rent or sell, every user completes document verification with biometric checks. You always know who you're dealing with.

Payments go through Trustap, a provider specialised in peer-to-peer transactions. Funds stay on hold and are released only after the swap is completed.

If you lend, you can request a deposit: it's frozen at the start of the rental and automatically released when the confirmed return is received.

Frequently asked questions

When does the app launch?

Public release is planned for Autumn 2026, starting in Milan. On this page, you'll see App Store and Google Play download buttons as soon as the app is published.

How much does it cost to use Lendmates?

Downloading the app, creating an account and posting listings is free. On every completed transaction, a service fee is applied, always shown transparently before confirmation: there are no hidden costs and no subscriptions.

Why do I have to verify my identity?

Because it's what makes trust possible. Document verification (KYC) protects both sides of the swap and is also required by the Italian anti-money laundering rules (D.Lgs. 231/2007) for platforms that handle payments between users.

What happens if the item is damaged?

If you lend, you can request a deposit, frozen for the whole rental. In case of damage, you open a claim with photos. If you can't reach an agreement, the payment provider handles the dispute before funds are released. You can also add optional insurance coverage.

Do I have to meet the other person?

No. For local rentals, handing over in person is the most common choice and is confirmed with a QR code. For sales, you can ship with a prepaid label and built-in tracking, without ever meeting.

Which cities will it be available in?

The launch starts in Milan, where the density of listings makes the experience genuinely useful from day one. The app works across Italy and we'll roll out progressively to other cities.
